Landing Page A/B Testing --Help Needed--

Discussion in 'Google AdWords' started by gagagoog, May 8, 2008.

I want to test several different landing pages for the same keywords --- can I have the different keyword-level destination urls rotate (just like the creatives do..)?
If not, what are my options for landing page testing?

If you want to test two different landing pages, the easiest thing to do is to write two identical adverts, and link one to each landing page.

Then you can monitor conversion rates in the same way that you would for any other advert test...

Just remember to set the ad distribution to equal.

That won't really work for me because all my keywords (even within an ad group) have their own unique destination urls/landing pages...

    Any other ideas?

If your keywords link to different landing pages, then you REALLY don't want them to be in the same Adgroup.

Keywords should only be grouped together if they are very similar - if you have to serve different content, they should have different adverts...

what you need is an A/B testing software that allows you to place multiple destination URLs within one URL so you can put the one destination URL at the keyword level.

There is software that will enable you to complete this task, just look around for it

Why not look at Google's own Adwords Website Optimiser.

This isn't some cheap add on they have added to Adwords. It's extremely good software that they bought a few years ago. If you had wanted to use this software then it would have cost quite a bit.

With their free software you can do multivariant tests (move things around on a page etc) or more simple A/B testing (page A versus Page B).

I think it's fantastic software and freely available.

When you are logged into your Adwords account just click on the Website Optimiser link.

    Cheers
