I'm afraid to even dare to ask this, but can someone please take a load of my mind and explain to me what SERPS mean?

    Search Engine Results Page

    FROM Webopedia :

Short for search engine results page, the Web page that a search engine returns with the results of its search. The major search engines typically display three kinds of listings on their SERPs. Listings that have been indexed by the search engine’s spider, listings that have been indexed into the search engine’s directory by a human, and listings that are paid to be listed by the search engine.

    Good luck ;)

Well, I'll explain something new, since this is the Google forum and it still amazes me how many people there are out there who still don't think to use it, and since I am a huge proponent of the "teach a man to fish" philosophy.

For many many words, simply go to Google and type in "define:{word or phrase}", with no space between the colon and the first word of the term. It doesn't have to be a word you would think of being in a dictionary, and many acronyms are covered as well. If there are multiple definitions just try and match one with the context in which it is being used.

    [define:serps]
