I have a few sites which are indexing very well in Yahoo but are not indexing well in Google. What causes this? I mean Yahoo will show a site indexing 500 pages and Google will only show it with 2 or 3 pages. Sites are aged also. Any ideas here?

are they dynamic database driven sites?

Generaly Google can filter out similar content such as product pages.

I tend to have the opposite problem, index well in google but yahoo and msn dont seem to want to know

What about the basketball site in my sig? Another question... Click on one of the links for team videos, say like Boston Celtics. Then click one of the actual videos... look at the address bar... is that how that video should show?

it happens with google - they have been changing their index rates rapidly and at a large pace for some reason lately

my forum (in sig) had over 25,000 pages indexed in february - last month it went to 4,000 in just a day, a day later, it went up to 15,000, then the next day around 8,000 lol - and now its just over 10,000

its crazy how google indexes stuff these days

More people noticed a drop from site backlinks using "link:domain.com" commande on Google. You really need to figure out around the net whose a good site to give you back link. Simple involvement on not so good site might really give a bad point to our site.

Basketball Website seems to be good. Try using google webmaster tools to diagnose the problems if any. Also check the crawl rate there, if its too slow, make it fast for some time. Check how many pages are indexed in sitemap section and resubmit sitemap regularly. I hope that helps

Ok, I have checked the webmaster crawl stats from Google. It is showing many errors (Over 200). There are many 404 urls. I don't know how or why? There is also a WARNING emblem listed next to my sitemap. Again I don't know how or why? This seems to be my problem. Any ideas???

404 is page not found, that means you have linked that page on your site or from other site that page is linked but that doesn't exist on your site.
Put an entry in robots.txt so crawler wont visit it again.
Also use tools section in webmasters to remove that page from search engines.
If its a warning in sitemap, that means your sitemap is not compatible with google, use xml-sitemaps.com to create xml sitemap of your site and add that using webmaster tool.
feel free to contact if you have any other questions.
