Lack of BL's

Don't take this has a complaint, because it's not - I think the co-op is a great idea and long may it continue!

I have a weight of 33,000 and have the ads on my forum, with ad's pointing to my forum and new website. I've visited MSN and Yahoo, and even though the ads have been live now for atleast six weeks, I've not seen an increase in BL's.

Has MSN slowed down listing links because they were red hot when the new search launched - maybe that's slowed down, and I'm been impatient.

    What do you think?

    Darren :)

Not sure how much your expecting it to be. But the maximum amount of backlinks you will get is around the 10000. Yes that can and will take a while. I have noticed that msn is showing about half less of backlinks then as Yahoo

Strange, for me MSN is still listing the backlinks extremely fast.

    Site A: joined 6 days ago : weight= 49000 : backlinks MSN: +4000
    Site B: joined 6 days ago : weight= 2500 : backlinks MSN: + 80
    Site C: joined 2 days ago : weight= 2500 : backlinks MSN: + 15

Also went from pos 10 to 7 for extremely difficult keyword in MSN
and went from pos 33 to 20 for same keyword in Yahoo

    Overall: Loving it!

Same for me. It's been several months now that I run the ads on 2 forums, and several of my web sites, but I have no backlink yet.

    Just remembered.....
It has actually, almost, nothing to do with weight.

You get what you give (which I believe is universally true, btw)

Meaning, that if you have 8000 pages and showing 5 ads per page you will eventually receive 40000 backlinks, theoretically.

The weight just improves the chance that your ad will be displayed when a bot visits the othe site.

    You said it: theorically.

I have 2 forums with thousands of pages on which I run the ads. I redirect all backlinks to my institutional web site, but it has 0 backlink according to Google. It's been since last year like this. I'm thinking about removong the ads.

Forums and links are a weird combo. Maybe they're not even counted at all anymore (as oppose to those theories that sig links aren't counted as real BLs).

With a lot less weight but from ads on non-forum sites (and mainly referals) I get plenty of links.

    Just throwing in some ideas.
