Suggestion Lack of Activity in Sites Forum ?

I am putting this one out there to see what response it gets...

I feel that DP has gone downhill since the thread view has been changed....this is supported by the fact that the number of replies to Sales threads has deteriorated massively over the past couple of months...

In the old format, you could post a thread and know that you would receive a reply within ten minutes...

In the new format, you post a thread and nothing....no replies.

I think that this has fundamently killed the conversational aspect of the forum....Discuss !

I would appreciate other members thoughts on this...

The Sites forum isn't for purposes of conversation, so it seems normal to me. Plus buyers have shifted away from going through thousands of threads trying to find what they want and more towards using the marketplace filtering tool:

Also, you have the ability to bump your thread to the top of the forum if you want (see this thread).

    Shawn,

Thanks for the link...but it appears to be "in maintenance" ?

I agree with the point about the Sites forum not being solely for conversation however, at one time the BST forums represented the majority of activity within DP. The activity in these forums now is full of members posting new threads but with little activity in terms of replies. This has to be attributed to the changes that were made a couple of months ago ?

The whole site was maintenance for about 1 minute. Should work fine.

Nice one Shawn, this is what I was missing....I did not realise that there was a marketplace subdomain....this would explain, in part, the reason for the lack of activity in the main BST forums.

Shawn, any particular reason for not listing sites/domain where actual URl is not given in the martketplace even when search parameters involve things like "premium", earnings, price etc?

    Why opposed to private business?

Because buyers generally aren't interested in sites/domains they the seller won't tell what it is. Most of the filtering options are based on actually knowing what it is. You can't search by links, alexa, PageRank, etc, etc. when the seller refuses to tell what it is they are selling.
