    i would say 5% is safe. you should have a good percentage of other related phrases and keywords in the article. say your main keyword for an article is "George Bush", your article should also talk about 'the white house', 'president of the united states', '9/11', 'bill clinton', 'war on terror', osama, terrorists. including related keywords and phrases in the article will make your article seem more natural to google and it will be valued more. if you just spam "george bush" 20% density percentage in the article, google will just see it as SPAM.

    make your article read as natural as possible.

    I think 2% to 3% will be the best. Because some important Article directories prefer this.

    As such there is no set figure/ percentage for keyword frequency/ density..Use your keywords in such a clever fashion so that it’s neither keyword stuffing nor under-usage..
