"“The momentum is building for impeachment,” Kucinich said in a statement on his Web site. “Millions of citizens across the nation are demanding Congress rein in the Vice President’s abuse of power."

    -Move faces uphill battle

Dennis Kucinich is on the floor of Congress this moment calling for the impeachment of VP Dick Cheney, which will lead to the impeachment of GW bush.

I see the liberals that have turned republican to vote for a libertarian are having a field day with this! Republicans really turned this around on the democrats today. Kudos to them!

I found this hilarious (on Drudge right now):

To impeach someone, you have to have grounds. Seeing UFOs and being a tin-foiler is not grounds.

What sense does it make to impeach a VP? They have no real power... The VP is nothing more than a figure head.

This impeachment is not going to go anywhere, and as time goes by, the likelihood of any progress drops significantly. The bottom line is that even if they want to try and prove Cheney falsely lead us into Iraq on bad evidence, it would be virtually impossible to prove what his intent was, and that he had any reason to not believe evidence from our own intelligence agencies. The Republicans are obviously not going to touch it, and there simply isn't enough support for it, so none of the Democrats want to associate it with themselves either. They just need to let it go, and work on the next election and actually doing something productive in Congress instead of the last two years of nothingness.

The grounds would include illegal invasion of other countries (just one leading example)
    • Do you know Hitler is generally credited with inventing 'preemptive' war?
    • Do you consider Hitler to be an inspiration to many Neo-con leaders?? ;)

    Edit:
    * Cheney has massive (unconstitutional) power.
    * 'W' Bush seems to be a dummy who generally does and says what he is told (a puppet)
    * Cheney is pushing very hard to attack Iran ASAP. This is insane and will start WW3 (we have a dozen threads about that already)

They need to get Cheney out first, before trying to remove Bush.

If the basis for the impeachment of a sitting Vice President is because of "bad evidence" with regard to intelligence concerning Iraq, then you might as well impeach all of Congress, both the house and senate, and then start filing charges against billy bob and his poorly dressed wife.

You'd have a better chance of impeaching Cheney for being dumb enough to shoot someone in the face...

I think their argument is essentially that Cheney and possibly Bush knew the evidence was crap and just took it to support what they wanted. Like I said, opinions on Bush and Cheney aside, the likelihood of that being the truth of the matter, and moreover, the likelihood of anyone being able to prove that intent, is zero.

It's pretty easy to establish to concrete realities when Hitler is mentioned in the same breath as Bush.

    1. The person making the statement is likely 14 - 25
    2. The person making the statement lacks education

Ah hindsight... And FDR new the Japs were coming...

Let's see what the intelligence about WMDs said, long before Bush was in office.

    http://www.cnn.com/US/9812/16/clinton.iraq.speech/
Now, for the really important twist in today's history lesson, let's turn to Al Gore and see what he had to say.

My oh my, how the times have changed. Like I've continued to point out, democrats wanted war with Iraq, had been claiming he had nuclear, biological and chemical wmd long before Bush had even thought about running for president.

The hypocrisy and delusion is mind numbing, to say the least.

Gtech, the real irony here is that one day years from now, Democrats will be in office in the White House, the ultimate outcome of Iraq will have been a success and democrats will all claim credit for that outcome...

For liberals, credit is only claimed when it suits a favorable outcome. Hell, Clinton claimed credit for a booming economy which he rode into the ground on the foot heals of Reagan/Bush... Meanwhile the younger Bush walked into what could have been disaster if not for his tax cuts, among other things...

166,000 jobs created last month... 89,000 more than the naysayers thought and the 50th straight month of Job growth under Bush... Ah, doom and gloom.

Please look at this article from a very respected source:

Article title with 'mild spin added' (by another blog)
    • Cheney Orders Corporate Media to Sell Iran Attack

    Original article title
    • Test Marketing

((((Important note: The key part of the article refers to "connections to someone at a neoconservative institution in Washington"
    * In the postscript-at the end-the story is confirmed by a Republican insider named Barnett Rubin
    * Plenty of other sources can verify Cheney wants to bomb Iran ASAP
    * The main point is exactly the way he describes VP Cheney "issuing instructions" to the major media outlets, and...
    * ...an interesting reference to "less subservient news organizations"))))

    Here we go...
...this is important because it is a mainstream source talking very honestly about avoiding WW3.

    • "...True? I don’t know. Plausible? Absolutely. It follows the pattern of the P.R. campaign that started around this time in 2002 and led to the Iraq war..."
    • "...It’s one thing for the American Enterprise Institute, the Weekly Standard, et al to champion a war they support. It’s another to jump like circus animals at the crack of the White House whip. If the propaganda campaign predicted by Rubin’s friend is launched, less subservient news organizations should ask certain questions, and keep asking them...

It's pretty easy to establish when someone uses an insult to avoid honest debate ;)
    • The question was for G Tech, but you seem interested...
    • Are you educated enough to know that Hitler is often credited with inventing the doctrine of (insane) preemptive war?

And again, what does this have to do with Bush?

I think number two applies here.

Just as a side note: gemini, you're a cool guy and I love a lot of your posts, but the formatting and lists and coloring is a nightmare and it makes me skip over a lot of your stuff bud.

    Well...

    ...ummm

...Bush (aka. Cheney) is the first US President to use the insane doctrine of preemptive war.

Now that I answered your question:

How about a substantial and honest answer to post #13, or...
    • Are cheap shots and insults the best you can offer?? :p
