    Hello,

Does anyone out there know how to register your site on the Korean search engine www.naver.com. My Korean is a bit rusty.

Naver, which is owned by NHN, is ranked No5 in the world in terms of searches conducted, losing only to Google, Yahoo, Baidu and MSN. For more check my blog post

Believe me the last concern of North Koreans would be the use of search engines...

Korea is in East Asia and is divided into North Korea and South Korea.

South is Capitalist, North is Communist.

2 seperate countries that don't like each other very much.

I am Korean and can help you register for naver.com

naver is probably the no.1 search engine in Korea, and it does not use google search results.

I'm not Korean but I lived there for a year last year.

Naver is a very popular search engine for 2 simple reasons, I think.

    1. South Korea is about 80% mountains, so everything is clustered into dense populations, and it's one of, if not the most wired societies in the world.
    2. The queries for naver I think don't use a normal search algo like google, but instead pull from a user contributed knowledge base like Yahoo! answers, but much more highly developed.

I'm not sure if the thing is mixing in the knowledgebase with the algo results or uses that exclusively, but that's a big part of it's popularity, I think.

And if you want to learn to read a second language - Go for Hangul. It's probably one of the easiest to learn to read, because the characters are just pronunciations or mouth sounds. Even if you have no idea what you're reading, you can verbally read it with just a couple hours of study!

I don't see any connection between South Korea is about 80% mountains and Naver is popular... Where did you get that from?

I agree with you that Korean is the easiest language to learn. You can basically how to read with just a couple hours of study, although you need to study lot more to communicate, write etc...
