Kontera isn't what it's cracked up to be

Not sure if others realize it or not, but for amounts under $5 a month do not roll over and are... I guess 'confiscated' is the right word for it.

So if you're thinking of signing up, don't, at least not until you have enough traffic that should get you over $5 a month in revenue. I'm not sure about anyone else but when I started fresh with Adsense it took a few months to get warmed up. Hit the ground running if you're considering Kontera.

Another thing is that they won't pay you until you have over $100 in accrued funds. That's fine, Adsense does that, BUT you can't get a payout of however much money you've accrued until you have made $75 in a month. Until then, they hold onto your money.

Has anyone else successfully fulfilled all this criteria? Are there any other notable pieces of small print that we should be aware of?

Are you new to Kontera? Were you aware of these rules?

I'm guessing if you've got a highly success site it could work well for you. But if you're new to the game you could be working hard for nothing.

I'm thinking of ditching Kontera to be honest as also I get a lot of views and clicks they are paying very low, sometimes they don't pay at all!

A couple of days ago I received 2 clicks and was paid nothing for them!

I don't understand how peope like John Chow are earning around $10.000 a month from them when clicks are so low in price.

I tried them for a while. I didn't think the intext ads were annoying to my visitors - I was wrong! Visitors slowly disappeared and only much later did I get feedback that the Kontera ads were really annoying to them. What a waste for such low paying clicks. Add to that their thieving payment policies... My recommendation is definitely avoid.

    Is that even legal?
To just confiscate your earnings when they are under $5?

The in-text thing certainly is cause for a lot of internal debate (within ones own mind). I think to the casual visitor they'll see such links as being something that you are recommending or supporting.

I guess it is. They're being up front about it. I certainly don't agree with it. I think it's wrong. But as long as people are aware that it's part of the ToS and they're signing up in agreement to that ToS then it'd be perfectly legit.
