I got approved for kontera DynamiContext today. I searched this site and didn't find many posts where anyone has used this and had great feedback (there was one though, indirectly) I am planning to try it out, on following basis, 1. ads are unobstructive 2. something new! so more chances of CTR Let me know if you guys has any data on this
so what has been your experience with this then, i am looking into ut myself, but am unable tofind any user reviews ...
I heard the generated ads are not very targeted? I used to have Clicksor text ads one of my sites and my users complained about it big time and I took them down!
well i am using it from a month.... so far i am only able to make $:12.60 only... but i am using it only in few pages of my site... not all! lets see... what happens next.. maybe on other site it gose well ?
I am running it too. I set it up a few days ago throughout my pages and i have to say i am not blown away or anything. I had hoped for some more targetted ads, but sadly that isnt the case. I only have seen about 3-4 different ads and all not related. For example it recognises the word Flash or MySql database and links it to the HP site for printers etc..? I have tried to email them but haven't heared anything yet, so the support isnt fast too. I wish something big and new would come onto the block serving us better ads in a way kontera because i do like it, if only it was more targetted and more different in each page.
I did receive a email back for kontera now. They said that i didnt see a lot of different ads because my site was not included/set up for yahoo yet. They say it takes a week for this to happen and i should see an increase in ads. I hope so, i am thinking about giving it a week or 2 and then decide if i take it down again.
am i using it on about 10 pages and its still $13 ( which i mey not able to get anyway ) i wanted to remove there code from my site but i am little sleepy and ileave it on tomarow anyway.... not usefull so much
My site is around 250K pageviews per month. It performed well with Kontera before the yahoo ads. Around $0.20 a click. Then I received a notification, that the yahoo ads are enabled and now the revenue dropped down to $0.08 per click. Google Adsense banned my site arguing I was trying to cheat. Chitika does not accept my application because the content is too niche. I hoped Kontera performs well but seems things going worse. Do you have any suggestions?
Looks like kontera puts up yahoo ads with their yahoo account and publishers get a cut of a cut from yahoo ads when they use kontera. Strange
Hi All, I have been using Kontera past couple of months and it works decent, I get highly targetted ads and payment is smooth, they sent me a cheque in the name of the site that I run, I had to return the cheque, as I did not have a account with my site name nor do i plan to get one. The cheque was returned through their personal account at FedEx so I was not charged any. Alos after couple of weeks I sent the cheque back, I got payment via PayPal as I suggested them. Their support is really weak, you have to wait 7 - 10 days for a reply from thier support team, though bit slow, payment is really decent, they pay you time to time if you have reached or crossed $100. So far, I have received one payment for two months via paypal, as I suggested Kontera to use PayPal as one of their payment method, they have recently added the feature for its publishers, atleast kontera works decent for me, though I never earnt a lot, but its good to have them on site, since it helps you earn a decent figure every 2 month or so. Regards, Dreamchaser
Could you please post link to your site, I would like to see how does these ads look before I can start using them. I have pleanty of traffic and I hope I can make the mark in first month.
My site is episode guides for BBC programmes, and almost every page contains the word "broadcast" - the Kontera ads seem to have become obsessed by this word and nothing else, to the point where it's getting annoying.
I'm not too familiar with Kontera but another company that does this is Intellitext. I read they have high CTRs above 2%. The ads are from good advertisers like Intel and Toyota...etc. You need at least 500,000 page views to qualify, but thought you all should be aware.
I've used Allfeeds.com's 'DHTML Popaway' program, which is similar to both Kontera and IntelliText, and have had good results. The ads are always targeted, and based on what I know of the other two programs, Allfeeds' program is more customizable (i.e. look of ads, look of highlighted keywords, etc). In addition, I don't believe there's a minimum number of pageviews required to qualify. HTH, Sam
I'm not sure if you can use YPN and Kontera on the same pages, but I know that Joel Comm confirmed that Kontera could be used on the same pages as AdSense. You may want to check out his forum ( www.adsensechat.com ) to see if there's any info on YPN. I'd also suggest contacting YPN directly and asking them - this is always a good first step to take if you're unsure of any action you're about to take, as it relates to the ToS. HTH, Sam
