hello in Japanese i thought i'd post the first message here before leaping into the serious sections on this forum. i'm in charge (marketing-wise) of a few websites in Japan. SEO-wise i'm a total amateur. but lately it has become a kind of obsession with a few of my personal sites. with that obsession of course i daily check my Japanese keywords with digitalpoint's ranking tool. actually, right from the start when he enabled unicode input. thanks, digitalpoint! looking forward to many good threads and meeting new online friends. and now let me go and read a few of the past threads as any Peon should do hamaki
hello Shawn, great forum you got going here! about that unicode thing: how did you input that Japanese text? i'm not able to accomplish the same. if i switch my keyboard to jp and input what you did (nihongo), i get this: i`?n{aÅãIÅL although, it is not terribly important. it's just about relevant anchor text in my sig link (that much SEO i'v already learned here )
I just typed it... You would need a browser setup for unicode (UTF-8). A Japanese-specific encoding will not work. It would need to be unicode. - Shawn
Shawn, thanks. i got the sig link to work with 'kanji' now. i just couldn't do it on the Mac though, so i launched "VirtualPC for the Mac" and it was as you said.
{shrug} I'm on a Mac (Safari) and it worked for me. But I guess if you got it working, then cool. - Shawn
you got that right sji2671, profs77 has confused a lot of people by bumping a LOT of year-old threads here in the introductions forum.
