Knowing who has read emails sent from server

    Hi,

We are sending emails to our customers, however we currently do not track who opens those emails. I know we can use pictures to see how many times a picture is viewed etc. Is there any way that we could use some sort of query string or otherwise with the customers username or email on the picture to know who has opened the email.

I know the limitations on servers like yahoo and hotmail or outlook that block images but was just wondering if there is some kind of solution to the above.

We are not spamming people just trying to create some sort of mangement info for the emails we send out.

    Thanks

I don't think it is possible using the standard POP protocol. Also look if this can be done, how much infringement of privacy would that bring about. People won't want to open emails in the first place. Not saying that you will be doing that, I mean in general.
