I have been doing SEO for a few years now, and have typically had no problems when optimizing a site. Lately, many of my clients have sites that use PHP, and it has been giving me a headache to say the least. Is there an easy way to change the meta tags? Specifically, is there an easy way to find the file that has the meta info and change it in order to optimize the home page? My brain hurts - please help if you can.
it depends on the application, sad to say there's no way around it, some applications are a nightmare to edit even for pro php developers, even finding the file that contains the header means waddling through lots of codes
well, as i've said it always comes down to the type and built of the application, life will be easier for you if the application is using some sort of template system, usually the templates files is located on one directory, from there you can easily edit the template files, on most instances, this file is named header.php or header.inc.php
It is template-based, so I will try that...thanks for the help. Maybe that should have been obvious, but I am in the dark when it comes to PHP
