Hi, we are about to send out a few thousand emails to customers...

What are some strategies to help keep the email from going into peoples junk mail box?

    Thanks in advance!

    Use image instead of text.

    Hi,
You can send your email through spam checkers to see if you need to change anything. You can use www.spamcheck.sitesell.com for free, just be sure start the subject line with "test" if you email your message to them.

I'm not really spamming, I'm sending out newsletters to OUR EXISTING CUSTOMERS telling them about new services we offer. They can also opt out if they dont want to receive any more, but thanks.

That's great that you are using email to stay connected to your existing customers and it certainly is not SPAM if you have their permission to send email to them.

If you are using a third party email solution, you will want to ask them for a list of their sending IP addresses. Go to openspf.org and microsoft.com/senderid and submit those IP addresses to be sending on your behalf. If you continue to have trouble and know that your list is clean, ask for a dedicated IP address that is white listed on the major ISP's. Keep your list clean by managing your bounces closely and you will have better success. As your list grows, ask your customers to add your sending email address to their safe sender list.

If undeliverability continues, flag those customers and send them a plain text version of your HTML email. False positives are a normal occurrence with corporate ISP's.

Thanks for the solid advice. I know i'm not spamming, spammers are the reason my legit business emails are getting filtered out in the first place. I'll look into what you are suggesting. Thanks folks!

everytime, i received emails from IM superstars, some big names and sadly, they're all went to junkmail...heck i started to think, if they're what it seems, why would their messages went to those nasty vault ? i mean, doesn't they check on this thing ? it is ruining their credibility as well, people won't respect 'guru's' who went to junkmail, whereas the same guru preach lots about email marketing and dah dah.... WTF ?

Make the email format just like you are sending an email to a friend.
