My brother bought a Mac the other day and I'm (secretly) insanely jealous. I'm saving up for one. (Notice I said "save" not "putting one on my credit card.") Anyway, in the Apple store, I noticed a software called macFreelance that's an invoice and billing software for freelancers. I fell in love with it only after looking at the box. Does anyone use or know of a windows-based software for freelancers that I can fall in love with instead? Yes, I know I can make invoices with Word, etc. I have some templates that I already use. I want a systemic solution that someone else has already put together.
I'm not sure if there is any. But there are online solutions out there. Not sure though if they are free. Web Worker Daily can be of help, I think.
You may want to look at www.bill4time.com (disclaimer - they're a client of a client that I've done work for). They're Web-based, handle billing and time management (perfect for freelancers), and can be integrated with Quickbooks if you use that already (and with mobile devices). Pretty nifty. I actually saw a freelance site reviewing them maybe a week ago or so (might have been FreelanceSwitch?).
Yes, FreshBooks is one of the most popular of the online solutions. They have a free version which supports up to 3 clients, and their paid versions start at $14 a month, which supports up to 25 clients (and goes all the way up to $149 a month for 5000 clients).
