Hi, I am looking into setting up shop in the outdoors affiliate niche....skiing, climbing, biking, surfing equipment.

I know alot about the industry and practice what i preach, but the best deals I can find for comissions are around 8%-9%...ouch!

Does anyone operate, or try to operate, in this niche that can tell me if im wasting my time?

Or does anyone have suggestions about affiliate programs to go through??

    Thanks!

I help a company called RipTube.com out. We mainly provide the backend and I'm not involved in the strategic partnership side of things. I know they went directly to Backcountry (company name) and are going to try to feed products into the site but i don't know what kind of deal they are getting.

I always thought they should setup an ebay affiliate program and feed in snowboards that are for sale or surfing gear or whatever. You get money for ebay signups and for sales.

If you need to start a website, our platform is a free service (www.thevillage.com for more info) and is totally customizable. Or, you could signup to be part of the riptube network if you wanted to, that would entitle you to run your own site and tie in with their videos (if you wanted videos on your site). So you could start a site with content already in it. However they don't have climbing as one of their focuses.

Anyway, not sure if that helped at all. Good Luck!
