Knocked me off my perch

My WP blog was number 1 for a particular search word in google.

I edited the header....and removed the name of the site in the header box.

Is it possible that I have tinkered my site to a lower ranking ?

If you removed the name of the site from the header, and one of the keywords that ranked high was in that title, then removing it was the culprit.

 

Well, I guess it's better that you screwed yourself rather than not knowing how you lost your spot.

I left it for a few days...this morn i checked and it was back to number 1 again. I didnt change a thing except ad a few posts.
