As the official site mentioned - Winamp will not be available after December 20 , 2013. I have no idea why they toke this decision but for sure I was one of the users of this great software for the last 15 years. I got it from the beta version when was NullSoft 100%. http://www.winamp.com/media-player/en Nothing to say - I have to stick with my iTunes now
I haven't used Winamp for a while. I forget about them until I have some strange file that pops it up. I never did like their player much seems like it never evolved into much. They have a link to AOL on their main page. Evolve or die, lol
Hi @RosuC ...Thanks for the information. Still using it til now. I just love it...So sad after 15 years of service. Maybe they will be temporarily unavailable right? Or they'll have some upgrades . What do you think?
I'm still using Winamp - low resources requested, good and versatile playlist. I don't need an application that is loading in 3 mins and needs Internet connection to work. @everythinglore I think that AOL wants to push their own product so they decided to stop to develop further Winamp.
I've signed the petition asking AOL to retain Winamp (http://www.change.org/en-AU/petitions/aol-keep-winamp-alive-or-let-it-go-open-source), 6,503 NEEDED signatures needed still, but I've also been reading about Microsoft might acquire Winamp Let's make sure we download the latest version by 20 Dec 2013.
Winamp will be back shortly. http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/0...-online-radio-aggregation-service-radiometry/ N.
Has anyone got a recommendation for a decent media player on android then? I've been using winamp on the desktop since the late nineties and then on android (mainly because I was just familiar with it!). It looks like now may well be the time to seek out alternatives (while we wait for the llama to recover!)
