http://www.prleap.com/pr/31853/ "The real power is in the admin console" said, Jeremy Kinsey, owner of the KingBloom Directory. "you can manipulate just about anything, from affiliate links, to advertising like AdSense or YPN and more." Kinsey went on to include that his company has invested several months and over $100,000 in the development of the script.
there was a $ sign in there. Dunno about $100,000, but if the development was inhouse, it's possible. Top Notch programmers, QA etc. I am interested in a copy. Available for sale ?
At a glance it appears that KingBloom is using the biz directory script. Maybe the $100,000 custom script hasn't been implemented yet. Can't wait to see it when released.
The current script is in fact powered by Biz Directory Script. However.... We modified the living heck out of it, and found that in order to make it effiecient and to make our time a bit more useful, we wrote our own version, which runs another directory btw. I am not saying what directory at the moment however. The modfiications we made to Biz Directory are evident in KingBloom, and the back end/admin of KingBloom is entirely of our own design. We built our own script from the ground up, and have found it to be quite powerful. Where the $100k number comes from is news to me. Like all news I read on the net, I take what I read with a grain of salt. It is very easy to be mis-quoted or have something taken out of context. Personally, as a private company it is really not within me to disclose what I have spent on anything. I will say that I have spent considerable time and money building a decent SEO friendly directory script for people, and those that know me can be quite confidient that is exactly what I have done. I liked the biz directory script, and chose to use it for KingBloom intially because I enjoyed the simple look and feel of it. I have always, as their license requires given complete credit to them for this. However, I did find it a bit clunky, and slow, particularly in the search/mysql interaction, which IMHO had more to do with less than stellar coding, than a problem with mysql. That said, we decided to write our own from the ground up. My current status on the KingBloom Directory Script is as follows: Index/listings pages - 100% Bots - 100% Admin - 95% Search - 50% Docs - 5% Add new listings - 0% Setup/installer - 0% The last two are fairly important. There is no way to add new listings in my codebase. We hope to have it released soon, and are quite confident that it will be well worth the effort! You can't always believe what you read. Anyway, I am not really worried. Sometimes bad press is better than good press. If anyone has any questions, concerns or gripes, I am available via messenger, email, (jer@mia.net), PM, or this forum. I am quite reachable, and have nothing to hide. I know those that have listed in our current directory have always been quite satififed, and a search for KingBloom on DP is not going to yield anything negative. I've been a very productive member here, and again, have never done anything to warrant such an attack. Again, got questions. Ask me. Like I say to my employees, my door is ALWAYS open. Thank you for your time and understanding.
Well, whatever work you have done with Kingbloom, we all know. Looks awesome. I would love to have a site powered with a script powering kingbloom, or with similar features.
I am interested in an alternative to phpld, I hope the kingbloom will be worth the switch and the $99.
I'm interested in buying one, as well. Be sure to let us know when it is ready. I'm a big fan of KingBloom. I track all the backlinks I find from hundreds of directories that I have submitted sites to. I always get a backlink from KingBloom.
I hope it is completely different from the script already used in kingbloom.com otherwise I will stick with phpld. I love the script of clush.com I even proposed to buy the script from them but they did not answer yet.
