You are right my man. Lots of great products on clickbank.. don't think Adwords is the best source of traffic for them. Google bans accounts to no end. Review sites is a great idea, so are banner ads. I just started promoting this product a few days ago and it's converting over 4% to the sales page... it's new on CB so doesn't have a huge gravity yet www (dot) yoursecondlist (dot) com and they have continuity on the backend. Those are the types of offers you need to go after. Hit it before the market gets saturated.
What always works for me when trying to find a product to promote is looking for something that I'm actually interested in, find something that you could write about for days and days. When people feel like you have a sort of "special connection" with the product, then they are more likely to buy. Basically find something you like and KNOW about because people will buy based on your knowledge of the product.
It sometimes depends on your niche if you are selling through your blog. Next if you are going to sell through email then you should create a list of demographic people for which the product should be beneficial.
