some how i have managed to get a link on a decent web site.
the anchor text is just my website name like : asite.com

on my site i use www at the start of my domain.

this site is linking to me without the www - is this a problem?
really i want it to be linked to www . asite .com and not asite.com
i dont want to contact them and ask them to change it incase they decide to remove it?

    advice?

I wouldn't worry about it. You're going to be getting tons of organic links with both the www and without. Ideally, we'd like them as just one way but it's not a huge deal. If it really bothers you, ask them to update it.

No problem what so ever, go on to your webmaster account and let the search engine know as to how it should make your website to appear like, either with www, or without www.......

Google views the www. version, and the non www.version differently. I have done extensive testing on 15 sites. The best way to deal with it is to create a 301 redirect to the desired version. This will pas 100% of the link juice.
