    Hi cfoozel,

Welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of affiliate marketing.

The first thing I would recommend is that you do NOT just start joining affiliate programs willy-nilly.

First thing I would recommend is getting a hold of Ken Evoy's free eBook "Affiliate Masters Course". Don't let the price fool you. It is considered one of the "bibles" of affiliate marketing. You can pick up a copy at http://aff-masters.sitesell.com/AffMasters.pdf. (Left click to read online. Right click to save to your computer.)

Even though I think DP is a great forum, I would also recommend you join Allan Gardyne's Associate Programs Forum at http://www.associateprograms.com/. (Top right Tab for the forum.) Allan has one of the premier affiliate education sites, and his forum tends to be more objective then the affiliate section of DP.

I also offer a free eBook in my signature below that you may find helpful. (It is 72 pages long and has NO affiliate links, so I am NOt trying to sell you anything.)

These are some good places to start.

I would recommend you "collect" the recommendations people will make in this thread, but only decide if you will join these programs after you get a little bit of affiliate education and training. I am not juding any of these programs, but you really want to pick the programs that are right for YOU! (If any of these recommendations wind up being a two-tier program, I would investigate it "extra closely" since the person may be recommending it just in hopes of making some money off of you.) Affiliate Marketing can be very lucrative and rewarding if you know what you are doing and choose the programs that fit YOU and what you really want, so you definitely want to get off on the right foot.

Since you are new to affiliate marketing, keep this in mind: "Failure to prepare is preparing to fail."

    Hope this helps!

    Jim
