Kiefer Sutherland star of '24' is locked up in Los Angeles

Did anyone know that Kiefer Sutherland is locked up?

He is serving a sentence of 48 days that began on December 5. It's kind of unbelievable considering the light sentences Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Mel Gibson have received.

I guess he'll pick up some counterterrorism tricks over the next month. :D

Dude! That's Jack Bauer you're talking about. There's no way that prison will be able to hold him for the full 48 days. I bet he's almost done tunneling out with the spoon he stole from the mess hall.:D

That does suck though.:( I like Kiefer and love 24.

By the way. Your blog post says he was on probation when he got the DUI. What was he on probation for?

The actor was already on probation for a 2004 drunken driving arrest when he was stopped by police shortly after midnight as he left a Hollywood industry party at the trendy Area nightclub on Sept. 25. Authorities said he failed a field sobriety test after being pulled over for making an illegal U-turn.

Sutherland had also pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor DUI charge in 2004. He was sentenced in that case to five years probation, 50 hours of community service and ordered to attend an alcohol treatment program. Authorities said he fulfilled the community service and alcohol treatment obligations.

Send him a card and a self addressed envelope asking for an autograph.

He's got plenty of time on his hands and will probably respond. :D

I do wish him well in prison and I hope he gets a reduced sentence so he can finish season 7 of 24 :)

48 days for a dwi is a lot of hard time when there was no accident or injuries involved,

48 days is nothing for that charge.

You know that on good behavior the sentence time drops by 40%.

He'll be done in no time.

With the strike still going he should be able to still finish 24.

They should keep him in there for 24 days, 24 months, and 24 years.

Just to keep with the whole 24 theme and all! :)

24 hours would have been enough.

Well hey, at least he seems to be putting up with the sentence without becoming a crybaby like some other celebrities you and I both know!

Also it's good to see that the full 48 day sentence standed, instead of being reduced to a few hours in the local country club!
