This seems to be a hot selling product , based on alexa rankings

BUT how are the able to find out what keywords sites use for their campaign exactly ?

They say : "We collect uncompressed log files from the Internet Service Providers. From these we extract the keywords from the major engines including Yahoo, MSN, AOL, Google and other information sources."

Do ISP's really give ot those log files ?! Isn't that private info ?
And based on thoe log files, how they find out ?

Just because a site may have good Alexa rankings doesn't necessarily mean they have a hot selling product. Just like if they have a very low rating, or none at all. It means nothing, because they may sell a lot via ads put out there.

So they are basically saying that they are selling you something that they bought from the Internet service providers who in turn bought it from Yahoo, MSN, AOL....?

Whew! That's a whole lotta buyin.'

The keywords typed in is not a privacy issue. Who is typing them in is.

But you don't need to buy that info, because you can easily see for yourself what the most popular keywords and most searched on subjects are.

    What is this "other information"?

^That would be a goldmine, doubtful that is possible without access to the adwords database.

It absolutely has to be a scam, I can believe it can pull data on what keywords are popular or what keywords are getting for a price in general, but absolutely not that they can tell you what site a. is paying to advertise for keyword b. on adsense.

Google would block that ish in a heartbeat.

Well, they can go by your I.P. address. Sort of like the mods do here when they need to ban a poster. Our I.P.'s are underneath our usernames. Well, with most boards, that is.

So I guess it is feasible for search engines to collect such info. That is, if they do it in the way of I.P. addresses.

But, we are going back to a privacy issue here. That IS a privacy issue. No search engine co. would dare touch it.

Why don't you ask this "co." who is making such claims?

But if you think about it, I mean sit back and really think about it, is it really a big deal or worth spending money to find "specific keywords" typed in?

For me, it isn't worth it, nor do I think it is a big deal. I do dating and sex tips for singles, so I know all the keywords typed in.

Besides, Google has it pretty much covered on all the keywords their users typed in. When you do an Adwords campaign, they give you a shitload of keywords people type in to help you get your ads out there.

On top of that, how many will actually type in totally different keywords? Not enough to make you any money, that's for sure.

Then again, what do YOU mean by "specific keywords"?

Specific keywords : keywords used by a particular site

Like you say, only searchengines have that info, no way they will give out that data and no way the above companies can find out that info so it is a scam

Like you say, google gives all the keywords related to your business, no much use
