keywords?!

    i read a lot about choosing keywords that have fewer than 200,000 results. but how do you promte your business if, for example, you sell widgets and only widgets.

    red, white and blue widgets.

    exactly the same as your competition and the 2 million other results that come up when searching for 'widgets'.

    You find a sub niche, to get traffic to your site.

    Target a little less competitive phrase .
    So you will be the top one in the smaller nitch .
    Then get a tight "sales page" optimised naturally for this phrase.
    This page will have higher chance of showing in yahoo and msn if not google.( my page does)
    You will soon start getting sales by the traffic from yahoo and msn .
    Meanwhile keep building links and g's not far.

    I sell red widgets, blue widgets and white widgets

    Apart from using those keywords how can I find a 'sub niche'?
