Keywords with Subdomains - Any Effect?

    For example;

    I would like to wish rank better for 'webhosting'.

    And presuming I own this domain (I don't);

    ebhosting.com

    If I set up my main site as

    w.ebhosting.com

    Will there be any advantages or help to my SERPS at all?

    you already have some privilege for the word hosting. But I don't thing w.ebhosting.com would give you any credit for "web".
