    Hi members,

this is my first post in DP. The problem i always face in SEO is good keywords research. I always in confusion states which keyword selection - broad, "phrase" or [exact] is better.

While choosing phrase keywords what should we keep in mind? How should we frame the Phrase so we cover at least 3 - 4 keywords in one phrase?

    Thanks in advance.

It depends. Do you already know your niche topic or are you still looking for one?

In doing keyword research, the 1st thing that you have to consider is the niche of your site, then look for some of your competitor and the keywords they are using, so that it will give you idea which keywords are also appropriate for your site. You can use long tail keywords, as long as it has traffic and popularity in the search engine. 3-4 keyword phrase are good.

    Hi there,
Personally, i use google adword tool and finds it extremely valuable for my keyword research.
I think going for "broad" search is better than "exact", due to the fact that you can actually get a much realistic numbers. What you can do is to 1) enter your root keyword on google adword tool, 2) then enter a few more keyphrases on the next few lines. Once you have found a confortable keyphrase, 3) Use that keyphrase and search deeper. You will come to a point where you should be able to find less competition with a reasonable search volume. Thats where you've hit BINGO!
