How to research keyword for best raking in search engine?

First you should start collecting as many seed keywords as you can.

From these you can create longer keyword variations so called long-tail keywords that are not only easier to rank for but also are more "searcher oriented".

As for competition analysis, well, there are various factors but probably the most important ones would be:
1. Are the main TLDs (top level domains) free or taken? .com, .org, .net
If they are, there is probably an SEO or two operating for the search

2. Common sense.

When you see pages like forum posts, torrent sites pages, yahoo answers pages etc. rank on the first page this is a strong indication that you are dealing with easy to rank for keyword. Why? Because no one in the world optimize these kind of pages.


There is of course much more to keyword research then this but this will help you get started.

You can use Google keyword tool for searching keywords and make sure that you have chosen low or medium competition keywords with high local or global searches for your site.

 

Type keyword tool into google, click on the adwords keyword tool, type some words you are thinking of....find words with low competition and high global monthly search volume with the exact box checked essentially.

 

Competition in Google Keyword Tool has NOTHING to do with SEO! It's AdWords competition (paid search results not organic).


If you're targeting "low competition" keywords this way you are shooting yourself in the foot very badly!

Go dipper when you are researching keyword, with the help of Google Adwords keyword tool..

for example:

acne treatment -> Acne Treatment for Teen -> Home Made Acne Treatment for Teen -> and so on..

 

Also, going into less competitive niche would be an added benefit.
