Keywords Question

    Greetings,

I have a few questions about keywords.

    1. I was wondering if it is best to have different keywords in your meta tag for different pages throughout a website? Does it hurt a website to have the same keywords on all webpages?

    2. Does the order of your keywords matter? Should keywords be listed in order of importance?

Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

    Sincerely,
    Travis Walters

I would go as far as saying Keyword Meta tags aren't necessary, however ensure you have unique Meta description tags on each page.

I believe that meta tags has less value so better put your keywords on your content. But don't over use your keywords, just create your content for your readers.

    Hello again,

    Thanks for the prompt response.

Your replies were very helpful. I will have to make my meta descriptions different. Maybe that is the reason some of my pages are not getting indexed because the description is repetitive across 14,000 links.

I have one last question maybe somebody could clarify.

I have heard about keyword density. What is the optimal keyword density to have for a webpage? I would like to maximize this while still keeping the content enjoyable to the reader. Does the density apply to meta tags, titles, and content or just content?

    Thanks again.

    Sincerely,
    Travis Walters

There is no exact answer as there are many variables involved but generally speaking I think the optimal keyword density is somewhere around 3 to 5 %

About your description tags - VERY VERY important that each page has its own unique description.

    Hi Travis,
I would suggest that you should consider getting ebooks about that matter.

    How's that sound?:)

Yes. it's always better to have few different keywords.. but it should be based on the theme of the page.

    2. Does the order of your keywords matter? Should keywords be listed in order of importance?

Yes. The order of importance matters, the most important one should be on first.
