Hey everyone, Forgive my noobiness... I'm running a blog that posts about tech related matters. I've read so many conflicting reports on keyword optimization so I figure I'll go ahead and ask the pro's here. Many people say "keywords don't matter," "they're irrelevant" and etc. Let's say I use the Google Keyword tool and find 8 keywords that: 1) pertain to my topic 2) have a mix of low advertiser competition // high search volume (as per a post on these forums from a member) Should I: 1) Integrate these keywords into the actual article (post) ? (I think yes) 2) Integrate these keywords into the META <Tags> ? (many say no) 3) Integrate these keywords into the META title + description? (I think yes) Finally, I've integrated 10-12 keywords into my META description (for my home page) and, as per the Meta Analyzer tool online, have about 85% relevenacy... I would great appreciate some clarification and help on how to rank better and get organic hits based on my above questions! Thanks in advance, -Da
those who say that keywords don't matter have lost their mind and are insane. keywords lay the base for the success of any SEO campaign. you must search for keywords related to your business or website. if they have low competition but high search volume then it's best. use them in your title, meta description and body tag. in title, use them twice, meta description - thrice and n body tag use them as natural as possible but use them strategically at the beginning and at the end of body. but remember not to over-use them. moreover, if you use them keeping in mind about LSI then it is much better
that is good. and we can never say keywords don't matter. but that is main part in On Page Optimization. so keep it up. and if you have question then ask DP members. here you can learn more things. and in this forum so many seo expert who is help you also.
Thanks for reading my post and replying everyone. I wish all of us large checks from Google and the others so that we can all live happily on a nice Island in the South Pacific... For now, I'll optimize with low-competition, high searched keywords and try a few things... The best way is to keep trying and reading the forums! Cheers
It depends if you are targeting adsense or affiliate marketing. For adsense use high paying keywords and for affiliate marketing use keywords that sell the product. Best of luck
Though many say that Meta tags are becoming ever more meaningless, this is still something you want to do. It literally will take you 10 minutes or less to do this, so it is definitely worth it. Also, integrating your keywords into your article or content is a must, just make sure not to over do this. You content must be readable. Also link your exact keyword phrases to the other pages on your site that target those keywords (internal linking).
