Keywords in <Title>

Hi. I'm busy optimizing a site for my boss which he's had for a few months but I've only just started work on.

Currently the site is designed in php and makes use of includes throughout the site and as such, the title for each page is partially unique eg. "Home Page | Mysite.com". The 'Home Page' part is changed on every page but the '| Mysite.com' is consistent throughout and my question is, should I change the 'Mysite.com' part to 'My Keywords' instead, or should I even change the titles of each page entirely to match the content on each page?

    Any input is greatly appreciated.

    Peace

In most cases, it should be:
    1) Keywords | MySite.com
    or
    2) MySite.com | Keywords

Depending if you're trying to brand your name more than keywords.

Keywords should be unique to each page. If it is your homepage it should reflect what you are selling/promoting.

Site.com | Description Keywords is the widely accepted way
using php would make it alot easier if you wanted to make a description on every page too.

I think just having the keywords in the title is enough. You could remove the MySite.com from every page title except for the main page.

Thanks for all the advice, think I'm gonna go with Traffic-Bug on this one and remove the MySite from every page apart from the homepage.

I'd say leave the name of the site off alltogether. No one is going to search for you by name, and that space is too valuable to waste.

yes definetely have the keywords in the site, preferably in the front, it will take more precedence, makesure you have some h1 tags on the page as well which mention the keywords you are targetting on the page, and expand upon that with h2 tags.

Use your keywords in your title. That is a big part of optimizing a site because titles weigh a lot.

It's usually better if your keywords are at the front of your title tag.
