    Hi

I have a client who has spent a lot of money for a content managed website before they spoke to me of course.

I said that its a good idea to get the keywords a page is optimised for in the actual name of the page for example.

    www.thesite.com/keywords.html etc...

The system they have can not do this as with most CM systems is gives the page a number

    i.e. www.thesite.com/pageid112233.php etc...

But the web design company said that they can add this functionality however for an extra few thousand pound.

So my question is how important is it to have the keywords in the page names of the URL

Is it worth the extra expense?

Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

Yes its very important to have keyword in the page name, it will make the page more relevant for that keyword and help in gaining higher ranking in SE.

for these problem you can ask your client to write mode rewrite rule in .htaccess file from back end,
    e.g.
    RewriteRule ^www.thesite.com/keyword.html$ pageid112233.php

this will convert the page from ww.thesite.com/pageid112233.php to ww.thesite.com/keyword.html

    cheers:)

It might not worth the investment in this case.. DigitalPoint has a pretty good rankings even with their current url format ;)
