It is my understanding that when writing the title page segment for my website that along with the main keyword being in it that I would try to work in as many of the ones I m using as possible. This has made writing a good description difficult because I am trying to get 3 or so keywords in it.

Maybe you should try to write title and description of pages naturally and put yourself on your prospective visitor's shoe or point of view, on what would be the sentence or terms they are exactly looking for...

Surely if your description is about your Title's topic then you'll not have any difficulty on applying some of the title's keyword in it. Just don't stuff up your description metas more than 300 characters.

If you can manage to put your main keyword in your meta description, much better. If not, make sure you have that keywords in your content.

I would recommend 1 keyword phrase per page and focus on that. Some of the professional themes like Frugal allow you to have individual page descriptions for each post and page. If you are using all in one seo plugin, it won't allow you to do that. That might give you more options to choose from.

That's the beauty of all in one SEO, your page title can be something catchy to draw in surfers and the title you use for SE's can be more keyword rich for better rankings so it's a win/win

    Hi,

In my own experiences, only the first 70 characters for title tags and first 160 characters for meta description tags would be effective for SEO purpose. So, I would like to recommend a really helpful e-book named "50 kick-ass keyword strategies" for this purpose.

    all the best,
