Hi guys, I need some help. I have a site, gofly2[dot]com (not live yet) and I want it to rank well under certain search terms, including "uk flight", "cheap uk flight" etc. I understand, that without a large budget (as the term is very competative), I could never rank well in google under these terms. However, what about purchasing domain names with the terms in them, such as ukflight.org. My questions to you are... Firstly, I have done this before for content sites and it has worked well, my sites ranking on page 1 of google for less competative terms. Would this work in such a competative environment? Secondly, if it could work, would it be better if I had ukflight.org forwarding to gofly2.com or have ukflight.org with many articles and a link to gofly2.com? Thanks in advance!
Is the domain name the keywords your after. If not i see no advantage to it. Even if you get domain with keywords you want you still have to get that domain name ranked well and have alot of links to compete on such a high traffic keyword. I would just work on links for the site you have and maybe find some lower ranking keywords you can get on first page.
rcj662 - so you are basically saying that, even if i get a domain with the keyword in it, I'd still need to do a lot of promotion to get it ranked well?
keyword plays a mportant role in ranking the site. always go for non-competitive and relevant keywords are used
