hi all, Do search engines care keywords in a Domain Name? and for SEO, having hyphen between keywords or not, which is better? thanks!
Keywords in domain name helps but not essential. Having hyphen makes it easier for humans, I don't know whether it has an impact on SEO.
yes, definitely yes. Including keywords in your domain will greatly encourage your seo scores. Google can differ the words seperately even without hyphen, so I don't think hyphen might make big sense, but I'v heard from other's reports that, "-" is better than "_".
Keywords in a domain are relevant with Yahoo and other search engines. So be sure to include your main keywords in your domain name.
It's one of the important considerations but not absolute. If both sites in the same niche is comparable in terms of having quality contents, high number of backlinks and other seo aspect, then domain name factor will kick in.
If you can you should get a domain name with your keyword not only will it help with SERP's but it will benefit you in adwords because you will get a higher quality score for having your keyword in the domain name.
Keywords in domain is a plus factor but don't expect that your site will boost or rank because of it. I prefer a domain with hyphen as this would distinguish your keywords. www.examplekeyword.com is a bit different from www.example-keyword.com. examplekeyword would be read by search engine as one word and example-keyword would be read as two different words
main keyword in domain name is certainly a positive point from SEO point of view. And Hypen (-) in domain name to separate keywords is also a good practice. You can look at it as placing "hypen" helps users to read and understand easily and what is helpful for users, that is certainly great for search engines.
