    Hi there,

I am in need to find out figures for specific keyword phrases. How do I go about this...

So for example, I need to know how many search in Google for:
    "a specific search phrase"
    and
    "a specific search word"

What's the definitive way - where I can get a proper conclusive figure???

If you want more results you should use a simple word.

It's not about getting results..... I'm trying to figure out how big my niche is for a specific project and one great benchmark will be to know how many times related keywords are searched for every month.

Surely there's a proper way of finding out simply; how many time are people searching for my keywords ??? Per month ??

Use the Google Adwords Keyword tool found here: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

There is an "exact match" drop down box you can use to see the average number of searches. It becomes available after you put in your search. Or you can put brackets [] around your search term.

Yeah google has the best tool for this right now however do not expect it to be more than 70% accurate at best. Still it will give you a good idea. Also you can bid to the first page on adwords for say the exact plural and singular of a kw ie shoes or shoe. You can do this for say 2 days and see which gets more exact match impressions. That can help you when deciding which one to try and rank for first.

gWeb, the right tool for you is maybe Google Trends: google.com/trends
There you can for instance compare the "amount" of activity phrases have had in google in a certain time frime. You can also filter by country!
    A similar service is google.com/insights/search

Overture had been down. Google Adwords can provide you a certain level of monthly searches. Just type in your keyword and look at the monthly estimate. You can then copy the keywords you got here and plug them in Google Traffic estimator. It can give you a rough estimate of the searches of each term. You can also click the estimated clicks to sort them from highest to lowest.

And just like the guy before me said, Google Trends will also give you an estimate of the overall monthly and yearly searches.

Thanks for all the tips guys - so it seems that the best way to check out a niche for keywords is Adwords.. Ive heard that it's not 100% accurate, shame there's nothing that can be conclusive :(

This is the best tool there is indeed because the battle usually starts with Google and then to the other 2 major search engines but if you like you can also use Keyword Discovery or even Yahoo's Overture ro even seobook keyword suggestion tool :)

    Hey der,

There are some sites where you have to get register and they can give you the record for as per your need. It also crawls the site and checks with the help of which keywords your site is being reffered.

    Check the following links

    http://www.statcounter.com/

    http://www.google.com/analytics/

You can go through it...If doubts, get back to me...:)
