[KeyWords] Help

    Many people have told me not to go after the same keywords as my competitors but I really don't know what key words to use.
    I need some help from SEO Pros.
    If someone can get me the best key words for my website. I'm willing to pay them.

    I'm not a pro SEO or anything but have you tried Google Keyword Tool, just type in your website name and you will have many options to choose from. You have to test and compare, if you go against high competition you just have to work harder to beat them, low competition you should see results fairly quick. It's all relative though, it depends on many factors.

    What are your target keywords.
    Write out 10-20 keywords which you would like to optimise your site for.
    Then go through that list and find which words are the most recurring. Like for example 'game server' is my most popular game server.
    But I also like game server hosting. You may be able to target the longer ones a lot quicker.

    Obviously the short key words will be difficult.
    You then need to get that keyword optmised throughout your website and on external sites. The quickest way (Which can still take 6 months) is to have external sites with the keyword as their anchor text.

    It took me 11 months to get ranked number one for my industries main key word. I even beat www.gameservers.com for 3 months.

    I haven't done any SEO for around 2 years and its no suprise that I'm not in the top spot any more - especially after stopping my advertisement campaigns. But you can do it too!

    Try and get some offsite SEO sorted and work on your onsite SEO.

    I would not consider the competition regarding keywords. We'll, I would determine what keywords they rank high and add to the list. Get access to Google Adwords keyword tool. You can also search the desired keyword and see if Google has a couple promising keywords and the bottom of the first page results.

    You can only do so much if the top ten results has plenty of backlinks. Consider this when you pursue backlinks. You only need a couple of good ones and you can buy them. Don't waste a lot time getting backlinks not relevant and have no page rank.
