The question is.. If there is a high traffic keyword that's getting 49,500 views monthly and the competition is low say around 10 competitors, should i tackle that specific niche or find something smaller?

Can you compete with the competitors is what you need to figure out. It's all well there being a small amount of them but if you can't offer anything different, unique or better than them no one is going to pay you anhy attention.

Surprisingly there isn't much related to the keyword I've chosen from the competitors, so I think I'll have the advantage point. And also the domain name I was looking at are the same as my keywords. But I do think I could create a unique site based around that niche.

you should not select this , because competition low means their are few advertiser on this topic. so your earning will be low though you get visitors

Well, I don't think you are going to find a keyword that has 49,500 views monthly and have lesser competition because usually the most used keywords always have high competition.

At first I would like to give a special thanks because your idea is awesome. It should be a strategy for the man who are going to start as a new that is "high demand and low competition". So, choice is so nice. Go ahead, all the best.

Certainly has the figures your looking for, but as Stuart said the crucial factor is whether you can compete against the Top 10.

Position 11 on Google search tends to yield about a ~1% CTR, if you assume worse case scenario that you can't break into the top ten, is the ROI on that 1% worth it?

If it's a keyword that has 49 500 views monthly and has about only 10 competitors, it's a perfect keyword that can be selected. Check the other competitor's sites and also take into consideration their offers, what do they deliver and try to be better than them or at least as them. Try to offer different things, attract the visitors. You know yourself and you know how to compete. According to my opinion, if there are so few competitors, most of the visitors who search for this keyword they will all check all websites due to low results. Here so you will have to know how to attract the visitors not to go back to other sites.

But I think that also it's really very rare or maybe not possible to be a keyword searched monthly about 50 000 but has as low as 10 competitors. If you have done your research, then you know it best.

How can a keyword having so many searches merely have 10 competitors fighting.
