I have a problem where Adsense is channeling ads which is inappropriate to my site. How can I manage my keywords so that Adsense can direct the appropriate ads to my site? Or, should I just report this to Adsense?
You cannot manually tell google what your site is about, unfortunately. Nor will it help to mail google about this. On pages that show inappropriate content you can use 'section targeting' (see adsense help for details) and add a keyword-metatag with keywords you think are appropriate. I think the last option only helps if your content has very few words (in other words: pictures or videos or something). Sometimes it just takes google a while to figure out what your site is about. good luck!
Try and use the keyword you want Ads on in the meta KW tag, the title tag and just before and after the adsense ads ... with a decent KW density on the page ... Hope this helps..
Also, if you label your pages with your keyword (ex: keyword.html) it also contributes to relevant ads on your site.
ry using this tag around relevant words within the body of your page <!-- google_ad_section_start -->keywords here<!-- google_ad_section_finish -->
All the above members have posted useful stuff for your scenario. However, sometimes irrelevant ads can cause not enough content... unoptimized sites that contain lots of images often run into this problem.
add more content, that's the only way to get proper ads to your site, i was frustrated my self when i saw some ads which had no relation to by website. actually it's all about the keywords that the advertisers are bidding for! if any keyword matches your site's content you will get that ad! there is a weight=ignore etc option, you can try that, the paragraphs that are giving you the ads that you don't want, you can use weight=ignore to them, read the adsense help for more info in this regard! it takes time to work, about 2-3 weeks on an average! though my suggestion is simple, add more content, and everything will be all right!
What about the option that advertisers are missing for that particular topic? I don't know what topic we are talking about here but I believe that you can very well find narrow niches where there are almost no advertisers...
make sure you have some keywords display on your site content or metatags. Google will give you ads according to those. If you just start the adsense, give them sometime to adjust the ads they provided to you. Good luck making money through adsense.
Concentrate it by manual count the keyword in your site, if one page have more than 15 the same keyword, I think it's conc enough, but if one page has only 3-4 keywords, I think it diluted
That's not necessary at all. google knows very well that sometimes a word that's very central to the theme of a page, is only there 3 or 4 times. As long as there is enough text on a page, google should be able to figure out what it's about > unless it's fiction or poetry or something like that. But sometimes google does take a while to figure it out. Be patient or try section targeting. All the above is assuming you have pages with a theme to them, not a blog with posts on widely different subjects. In that case the index-page of your blog is going to show very strange ads, no matter what you do.
Another thing that seems to help well is to have the relevant keyword mentioned in the URL. I have seen big improvements when I changed that.
