Keywords , Do Ads Go By The Keywords?

    Ok so i have like 2 questions hopefully this is in the right place.

    So first questions to rank higher in Google apart from the content on the site dos Meta Keywords help or are they not needed?

    Also second question does Adsense ads show by the Meta Keywords or Content Or Both?

    I have a Finance blog i am working on and so far the CPC with Adsense is showing as £1.22.
    How can i get the CPC higher in Finance niche , has this anything to do with the Keywords , Meta Keywords or dos Keywords, Meta Keywords do no good what so ever and the CPC just depend on the Advertisers ads at the time?

    They are not useful these days.

    Both and sometimes related to your browsing history.

    There are many low cpc ads which is also based on geo location, so you need to analyze those ads and block it.

    You goto the "Allow & Block ads" section of Adsense here you can block categories such as dating etc.
    I have done this on a few of my sites and I've actually seen revenue increase.

    Meta keywords is not used by google anymore.

    Google will scan your content, it will display relevant ads based on your content or the previous search queries of the visitor.

    your £1.22 per click is already good for a finance website.

    forget about meta keyword but focus on the content. Blocking ads or/and disable the interest base ads might increase your CPC but it can reduce your CTR
