Do not mean to confuse anyone with the title of this post. Someone on another forum tried to tell me that keywords are basically dead and only used by a few smaller search engines. I can not believe this but wanted to see what other people on this site have to say I heard this right after doing all sorts of research on the keywords for my site overhaul. Adam Burgi
Your keywords not actually dead but it seems that you need to work hard with your keyword because you did an overhaul in your site. Your keywords that actually ranked before were sunk. Old age site/page is an advantage, so meaning you need to workout on your keyword.
Thank you for the information. I think I did pretty good on the new keywords on the ovrehaul site. I will get peoples opinion on my keywords once the overhauled site is up,
If you are talking about putting keywords in meta tags then yes, you can rank without keyword meta tags becasue its been so abused. You still need good quality content and you need to understand how to make sure that you dont over keyword your content. Keywords will bever be dead, just the ways they are used.
How does this someone on another forum think people look for things on search engines - google, yahoo, ask, whatever. Do they transmit the idea of what they want via telepathy? Or do they type a word or phrase into a box? As craigedmonds says, keyword metatags aren't used by the main search engines. But 'keyword' is really just another way of saying 'search term'
Keywords are not dead, they instead rule the search engine world. I recently wrote about a concrete example, have a look How good keyword research beats website marketing
