Keywords, Alt Tags and Getty

Couple questions regarding my site http://www.surfimages.com

    1. We we're thinking of adding Alt Tags to my thumbnails (EVERYONE/50,000+) on the surfers and locations pages. But from my own research it is not a good thing to repeat the same alt tags.

Example: We we're going to take the description of the images and that would be the alt tag.
Now the problem is say if I have 100 photos of "Kelly Slater surfing Pipeline" the alt tag would be just that over and over and over, which could be more bad then good?

    2. On the "KEYWORDS PAGE" when the user clicks on any keyword the title bar reads: Surfimages.com - Search Result. What if we changed it to read: "KEYWORD" - Surfing Stock Photos and Photography

Example: if you clicked on the word "abandoned" the title bar would change to: Abandoned - Surfing Stock Photos and Photography

    Would this help in SEO?

    3. We went to Gettyimages.com and clicked on any of their thumbnails and in doing so a pop up window would be displayed. We copied that url and pasted it in google. How is google reading this url when it is from a pop up window?

Thanks so much for your help!!!!

Write 4-5 lines of unique description for each category/tag listing at your website and keep individual image description as alt. I know it is not perfect to repeat same keywords again and again but since these keywords are inside links it's not very bad. Adding 4-5 lines of unique content to the category pages should help. Suppose you have a page for Kelly Slater and have a list of links(images in links) related to keyword and 4-5 lines of unique text related to same KW then it won't harm the rankings. Remove the java script code which you are using to link. Instead CSS based solution will be perfect.

If possible you can add an integer to end of each description. 20th pic in same category could have "description - 20th pic" as alt text.

"KEYWORD" - Surfing Stock Photos and Photography is good for SEO but having some thing like "Best Abandoned Surfing Stock Photographs" as title would be more helpful, I mean people are likely to search Abandoned surfing stock photographs or abandoned stock photos, isn't it?

See, it is still a page (though it pops up) and the link could be usual anchor text link with some additional parameters not java script. Can be done using CSS. e.g. - http://en.kioskea.net/faq/3849-css-create-a-pop-up-no-javascript

Reply, if you have any further queries.
