Hey everyone, Thought I'd take a moment to talk about testing your writing out and setting up your own case studies for search engines. This is geared towards those of you who are looking to make additional money through affiliate programs whether it's Clickbank or any other venue. About 5 months ago when the Water4Gas phenomenon took a hold of the Internet like a whirlwind I started testing articles I had written. Since I write a tremendous amount of work each day, I haven't yet found the time to have my own website so my Clickbank profits are strictly from articles with hoplinks at the end. Anyways, I've written articles that made over $200 worth of commissions and ones that have made absolutely nothing. I knew this would happen so it didn't come as a surprise because it was all part of the testing. Below you will find a little information on what I did to turn one successful article into several. #1 Keywording the Title- Yes 90% of the writers online know about putting keywords in the title. However, what I found is that if you take your main subject say Water4Gas then stick a hyphen next to it and place two other keywords in the title you are off to a good start. It would look something like this: Water4Gas-Gas Buddy or Gas Scam? This was the original title and the article is out there somewhere. The point is the secondary keywords after the title at the time were both very low results with extremely high searches. Best of all the results at the time did not include a lot of competition for the Water4Gas system. One other point to note is that I have seen a difference in putting a space between the hyphen and the 2nd keyword (gas buddy). In my personal experience it's more effective to start it right after the hyphen. I know it sounds trivial but you would be surprised. #2 Article Submission- One thing I would like to note is that I only used one site to submit this article to on the Internet. It happened to be Associated Content. I do feel that if I had taken the time to send it to other directories the overall profit would have been much better, but again I was only dabbling in this to see what would happen. #3 Opening Paragraph- Another tweak that was noticed almost immediately was the ability to use all three of those keywords in the first paragraph and sprinkle in a fourth. Keep in mind my own personal writing involves not making you fill like the article is stuffed with keywords, so it does take some time. However, if you were to go over and read it now after knowing what I've done you would most likely feel that way. In the end my articles was on the front page for a few weeks before slowly trickling off as the industry became increasingly popular with competition. Even though this has been successful for me, you may find ways that work better for you. Whatever it is keep doing testing things out, because you're only one piece of the puzzle away from creating a substantial amount of money for yourself. I would share more about the body, information, and conclusion, but I am currently writing an ebook in my spare time about how I am able to take an article from nothing and have it on the front page and often times in the top 3 spots within 12 hours. The goal here though is to help at least one person make one sale. If that happens then I did my part. I will leave you with one more thing. I wrote the article in May and didn't receive a sale until the end of May and through June. So be patient, it will come and if it doesn't then you can still learn from it. Cheers~
I noticed this last week with a site in my niche so I thought I would put key words in my title, this was last week so I'll let you know what happens All the best Chris
you must be a ghost whisperer fan Or at least a Jennifer Love Hewitt one. I'll have to check out your links there. Yea, most people already know about just placing keywords, it's the tedious testing that gives you an extra edge. Definitely let me know what happens and good luck!
LOL the forum was more like a blog at one time, then changed to a normal site. I will keep you posted!
Thanks for sharing those tips. I knew that starting the article title out with the main keyword was a good idea, but I didn't know that including secondary keywords after the dash would be even more helpful. I'll try that next time I need to market my site.
