I'm new to Adwords and trying to learn and I have problem with setting up keywords.

The keyword is for example "HP Pavilion DV60 battery". If I set this keyword as

    HP Pavilion +DV60 +battery

I want to show the ad when people search for :

    hp dv60 battery
    pavilion dv60 battery
    hp pavilion dv60 battery
    battery dv60
    battery hp dv60

and not show when people search for :

    pavilion dv60
    hp dv60
    hp pavilion dv60
    hp battery
    pavilion battery

SO : should I set it as
    hp pavilion +dv60 +battery

Is this the right way to do it?

Run the campaign and find out. Analyze and revise once the data comes in.

Mixing old style broad match (without +) and modified broad on a keyword does work. Just maybe not the way you expect. I recall testing this and getting unexpected results. I would therefore have the plus in front of each word. This means that the words, each one, have to be part of the query.

Seems to me that the main words are battery and dv60 so I'd start with those. I don't recall what Adwords will do with the non-modified words but like I said, try it out. I would and see what comes out but I'm not sure if the query "battery dv60" will trigger your ads in this case. I'm guessing not.

You can really narrow down your exact match, if you want. In addition to using brackets [] around your keywords when you enter them into your AdGroup, you could also go into your campaign settings and select the option under keyword matching options, under Exact and Phrase Match, you can select "Do not include close variants". This way you can be sure to only show up or the specific keywords you enter in.

Use these terms as Exact Match

    [hp dv60 battery]
    [pavilion dv60 battery]
    [hp pavilion dv60 battery]
    [battery dv60]
    [battery hp dv60]

Put these terms in negative keywords as a Exact terms

    -[pavilion dv60]
    -[hp dv60]
    -[hp pavilion dv60]
    -[hp battery]
    -[pavilion battery]

because of you use hp pavilion +dv60 +battery then your ad might be shown for keywords like hp pavilion g6 drivers , hp pavilion m6 etc.

Hope you got me. If not then do PM me for more details.
