The keyword tracker has gotten almost completely useless to me. 90% of the keywords I track have vastly different results than what the tracker displays. The tracker may show us in the top 10 when we're actually on page 10. Even worse, I have to run the "check all" three times before it checks all our keywords. It says it's done, but really it's only updated 1/3 of the words. Run it again, about 10 are remaining and run it a third time to get those last 10 or so. To sum up, I'm thankful for the free tools digitalpoint provides
but i think it is too useful to me for keyword research digitalpoint /tools /suggestion/ you have to think about your site - target customers & then decide the keywords
You should consider geographical location difference. Google is providing different results, I don't think it is about keyword tracker.
May be me, who knows. But, I have to run it 3 times before it updates all my keywords. Second, it is almost always inaccurate by a fairly wide margin.
is it actually working for people (the google one, not the msn/yahoo)? It fails to update and always shows n/a or 0 even after updating or refresing, it doesn't rescrape when i tell it to.
It is working for me. Well I had a Google de-indexing problem last week and since my serps dropped for so did the DP keyword so it was accurate. But now my serps have recovered but the DP rankings haven't really recovered to be as accurate as before. The interesting bit is if I delete one of the DP keywords and then add it in again then the DP ranking is close to the SERPS. Only problem with this is that you loose the history of the keyword.
I wonder why it seems to work fine for everyone else. I track about 250 keywords across 5 different sites. I have to run it about 3-4 times before it gets all my keywords. When it's done, almost all the results are inaccurate, many times significantly.
