I updated the keyword tracker script (available from your settings page here) with a few changes... Checking Google results checks in groups of 10 instead of 8 (less queries = faster/more efficient). Better handling of Google API errors. Nothing huge changed with it, and the old version should still work. But the new version is a little faster and more stable when a search engine throws an error, so wouldn't hurt to update if you want.
I appreciate your effort a lot as i admire your forum as the best one. But i have a query on your keyword tracker tool. You have given an option of tracking only upto 10 search result, through manual submission if someone host this script in abc.php file on it's server. Now don't you think that if some one have to check this manually after doing so many things, then it's better he can do it by searching it in Google. Why to choose digitalpoint ?
You can check deeper than 10. Also, even if you could only choose up to 10, it would be faster if you are checking multiple keywords. And it keeps daily history for you so you know if you are going up or down. Nope.
Great job. This is better than most paid tools out there. Will there be a bulk import function in backlink mode like there is in keyword mode anytime soon?
I had not planned on it, but it probably wouldn't be too terribly difficult to add a bulk entry mode for URLs. Just didn't think people track a zillion different URLs, but maybe I'm wrong?
This would be a nice feature. I would certainly put it to use and imagine large web publishers and SEO's wanting to track client sites would benefit as well.
Hi Shawn, How can I check if the script is working properly? Something is wrong - every time I run it it indicates that it is running (counting the checked links when I refresh the page) but in the end results are not coming up (Last Check is not changing, it's 3rd of November this year). I can't figure out myself, can you point me in the right direction? Would really appreciate it! Thanks!
Is there any chance we can see bulk import functionality in backlink mode like currently exists in keyword mode this year?
The whole keyword tracker is in the process of being rewritten from scratch, so I need to finish that before anything major happens.
BTW - I finished rewriting the Keyword Tracker from scratch. It's still a ways off from being available public (since it's going to be rolled out at the same time as some other things). Not including the new UI, a couple new features that the new version has... You can track rankings "as seen from any specific country" if you want (on a per keyword basis). Bulk import function for URLs. Pagination for those with a zillion keywords/URLs being tracked.
