The tracker is pretty much spot on with where I sit for various keywords in the rankings. However when I punch in the phrase "the phantom zone" for my site www.thephantomzone.co.uk it says I'm sitting in the number 1 position when, in fact, I can't find the site in the first twenty pages (and don't expect to). Any ideas?
It's probably because it's querying a different datacenter than the one you're looking at. I'm not sure which SE you are talking about but there are programs to check your rankings across different Google datacenters and with Yahoo, make sure you check at yahoo.com and not yahoo.co.uk. It could also be something with the double quotes.
Thought of that - I've searched in dozens of datacenters and Wikipedia is always number one, with mine nowhere to be found. Like I say, I don't expect mine to be showing up yet, as I've only started putting it together, although the home page has been in G's index for a few months. And sorry, in the keyword tool I didn't use any quotes. Sorry for any confusion caused there!
Click the anchor text link in the keyword tracker and it will check again and see if it shows up the same. What SE are you talking about?
This has been going on for about a week. I've tried refreshing the search on that keyword every day since then. Even deleted it and added it again. It's in Google.
