I have several keyword / URL combinations that are returning N/A but when I check them in Google they are ranking. I have made sure to log out of Google when checking my rankings manually so local terms should not be a factor. I also checked the rankings through a proxy and I still see the rankings. One of the keyword / URL combos is: keyword: URL: It should rank around 19 in Google.
Hmmm... I see the same thing. The weird thing is if I take the top 20 that Google returns via the API, they are identical to what I see searching manually with only your site missing. Is your site new or something? Maybe it hasn't made it to all data centers yet?
The site is not new. It has been online for 5+ years. The page in question is fairly new though. It has only be online for about 2 months.
Could be the newness of the page... The system can't report something if Google doesn't show it, and right now Google just isn't showing it via the API.
Looks like that is the case because all of the N/A I am seeing are on newer pages. It kinda of sucks though because those are the pages I'm most interested in. Are you aware of any keyword trackers that use the actually Google rankings and not the API Google rankings? Also how do I edit my original post to remove the URL and keyword? Thanks
Not that I know of (although I haven't really looked either). The problem with not using the API is: It violates Google's terms of service and Google will probably just block people making non-API requests. Any time Google changes anything about the HTML in their search results (which they do often), the reporting would break.
