Keyword tracker NEVER finishes updating all my keywords

Discussion in 'Keyword Tracker' started by abbynormal1, Jun 26, 2006.

I have about 150 keywords I track for all 3 engines. The tracker NEVER finishes them all. I'd say it updates 1/3 of them, the rest I have to manually click to get updated. The problem isn't for any one engine. For example, keyword abc will get updated on all three engines but xyz wont be updated on and engine. Any idea why?

There is no reason to manually look them up. Just click check all once again. Think it starts back where it left off. I get better results checking late in day.

for me the same is true - the keyword tracker never finishes its job
more than a year the keyword tracker did i fine job
last few weeks i stopped using it regularly for a while

a few days ago i started again - but each time after 100 or so keywords - on all 3 SE - the tracker stops
to restart again is no solution - usually it never takes up again or if then only for a short while

to get a full run once usually takes 3-4 days

all else is as before = same server etc

Are you running out of API queries allowed on your API key?

    this minute YES
but normally that never occurs when the run aborts

lets say we have 1000 queries per day
    after 100-200 it stops
today i restarted a few times without success
but now it just said that the 1000 queries used up

hence it somehow used the queries even when the browser showed abortion of run

normally i have NO error message at all
    the run just ends prematurely

What do you mean an abort? There is no way to abort it once you start it.

the query run stops before finished without showing any error message
    after 100 or so queries
    on restart sometimes immediately
i,e, after the first refresh it shows no more ongoing query but also no results for that date

Just sounds like your API key is out of queries (it will stop if it hits the limit).

    YES you are right Shawn

i restarted today again a new complete run
and after half or so - the run stopped - w/o error
then i checked a single keyword manually, then it showed the error "Daily limit of 1000 queries exceeded for key ..."

the question is how is this possible ?
what is the cut off time for a day?
what happens if a run stops and is restarted - does it continue or does it restart all url even those already done on same date ?

a full run is some 450 URLs for Google
hence one single run on a single day would normally never lead to exceeding the daily limit ...

the last few days i have attempted a full run every single day
it never completed - may be for above limit-reason

by today i have URLs left from july 2, 3 and 4
about 1 third has been completed july 4 - my last run just an hour or so ago

hence the 1000 queries/day are somehow gone w/o full run each day

thanks Shawn - that's the key for my problem

since i dropped out of G in most keywords into N/A on june 27
and now its slowly coming gack to normal
the keyword tracker of course uses up all 1000 queries for a tiny fraction of the open keyword-queries

I have it set to go 50 deep and have about 15 Google N/A's in addition to the ranked keywords.

I don't get errors - it's just that when I hit refresh, there are none pending yet no results for many words. I did try the solution where you rerun the search, and after about 405 tried it usually gets them all on all three engines.

By the way, the missing results are not limited to Google. The tracker updates many keywords on all three engines, but leaves many keywords unchecked - on all three engines.

Occasionally, I'll run a check and hit refresh after say 10 seconds and it will show that it's compelte, although obviously it's not. Strange behavior.

In any case, I'm not running out of G queries as evidenced by:

1 - I can eventually get everything checks by rerunning the check 4-5 times
2 - Unchecked keywords are not limited to G, many msn and yahoo go unchecked as well.
