I have just read somewhere that all Keyword tools, even Wordtracker are useles for long tail keyword research. He wrote that he finds the most valuable data in his own logfile for his niche website, and that it's totally different from what comes from the keyword tools. Can anyone confirm that?
I know this is an old thread, but was compelled to respond. It was Jack Humphrey, and yea he was right. I rank number 1 in Google for some phrases that Google Adwords Tool says has 5000-10,000 searches per month, but guess what, all I have got so far is 2-3 visitors. I could understand if it was WordTracker or Keyword Discovery, but Google tool too?
I had the same impression that keyword tools don't always work the way we would like. I had a very strange experience with WordZe since it looks like a great tool, but it didn't help me much.
